Our Programs
At Empowering Black Youths, our programs are designed to support the black child, emotionally, socially, and the overall well being. Through community-centered experiences, mentorship, skill-building, and enrichment, we create opportunities for Black youths to grow with confidence, connection, and purpose.
Our work is organized around four core program areas that reflect the needs of our community and guide everything we offer.
Student SSL Volunteers
We welcome Maryland middle and high school students seeking supervised volunteer opportunities that may qualify for Student Service-Learning hours. Opportunities include community events, outreach, materials preparation, youth support activities, and nonprofit program assistance. Refer to placement details below

Mentorship Program
Become a mentor and inspire young minds. Share your knowledge and experiences to help guide our youth towards a brighter future and personal growth.
Community Events
Participate in our community events that promote awareness and engagement. Help us create a supportive environment for black youths through workshops and activities.
Fundraising Initiatives
Support our fundraising efforts to sustain our programs. Engage with the community and help raise funds that directly benefit the empowerment of black youths.
Together We Thrive
Building connection, confidence, and belonging
Together We Thrive creates safe, welcoming spaces where Black youths and their families can connect, build trust, and grow together. These programs foster a strong sense of belonging through shared experiences, open dialogue, and consistent community engagement.
Mentorship & Leadership Development
Inspiring confidence through guidance and representation
This program connects youths with Black professionals, community leaders, and coaching support that help them explore interests, clarify goals, and develop leadership skills. Through mentorship, lived experiences, and guided coaching conversations, youths gain exposure to real pathways and the tools to navigate their own journeys with intention and confidence.
Life Skills, Financial Literacy & Wellness
Equipping youths for everyday life
Life Skills, Financial Literacy & Wellness focuses on practical knowledge and emotional well-being. Youths learn essential life skills, financial responsibility, and strategies to support mental and emotional health. By combining education with open conversation, these programs help young people build healthy habits, independence, and informed decision-making skills.
